Enamel pins are such an awesome way of expressing my interests, and pins have become hugely collectible. I personally collect tons of franchises in pin form, with my favourites being Mulan, Anastasia, Sailor Jupiter, and the Scarlet Witch (literally just realising that badass ladies seems to be a theme here..!). Anyway if you're like me, you're always looking for creative ways to display your pins. Here are a few ideas to get you started!
1. Pin boards: pin boards are one of the simplest and most popular ways to display enamel pins. You can purchase a cork board or foam board and push your enamel pins right into them. Most of them won't need you to attach the backs, and they'll be super secure on a board! You can also get creative with the design of your pin board by painting or decorating it to match your personal style.
2. Denim jackets: Another popular way to display enamel pins is to attach them to a denim jacket. You can place pins anywhere on the jacket that you like, and it's a great way to show off your collection while also keeping it with you wherever you go. You could mix pins and patches on your jacket to create a more interesting design!
3. Backpacks and bags: If you want to display your enamel pins on the go, consider attaching them to a backpack or bag. This is a great way to personalise your bag and make it unique to you. I've actually been stopped a few times by someone who wanted to know where a pin on my bag was from! A particularly good idea are ita bags; bags with see through windows so you can display your pins while keeping them protected!
4. Fabric banners: coming in all shapes, sizes, colours, and themes, fabric banners are a really cool way to display pins! Like pin boards, you can totally customise them to reflect the theme of the pins on display and this can make for awesome pieces of art on your wall! They're also lighter than boards and therefore easier to hang (particularly useful for renters - I use a Command hook for my banners!). Here is my Scarlet Witch banner, which only has a bit of room left for more Wanda pins!
5. Clothes: Enamel pins can also be attached to clothing, such as t-shirts, hats, or even shoes. This is a fun way to display your pins and show off your personal style. You could pop one in the middle of a bucket hat, or on the top of your favourite sneakers. Just be sure not to stab yourself!
6. Picture frames: Picture frames can be a super creative way to display your enamel pin collection. Simply remove the glass from the frame and use a cork board or foam board to attach your pins. You can then hang the frame on your wall (or stand it up on a shelf) and easily mix and match frames to suit your collection.
7. Canvases: If you've got a particularly cool canvas print, why not pop some of your favourite pins on? Canvases are are great way of incorporating pins into an art piece to hang in your home. That said, please be aware that pins can create holes in the art - maybe don't tack them onto any original Monet pieces!
8. Fridge: Did you know you can get magnetic pin backs? These awesome little accessories will transform your pin into a magnet! Simply switch the backs of your favourite pin out with a magnetic one and pop the pin onto a fridge or other metal surface to display it without having drilled a single hole! Just be sure not to leave them anywhere in the kitchen which might get very hot or dirty.
There are so many creative ways to display your enamel pins! Whether you choose to display them on a pin board or banner, a backpack or even your fridge, the important thing is to have fun, keep them safe, and show off your collection in a way that means you'll see them all the time!
